Sainik School Admission Process

Admission to New Sainik Schools (NSS) – Complete Information
The Government of India has approved the establishment of 69 New Sainik Schools (NSS) across various states, under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model with reputed educational institutions.
These schools follow the Sainik School pattern while remaining affiliated to their respective education boards.
Admission Channels in New Sainik Schools
There are two routes for admission in these schools under Sainik School Vertical:
- 40% seats are filled based on the All India Merit List of AISSEE 2026.
- Domicile or category (SC/ST/OBC) is not applicable, except for Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna Sainik School, Belagavi.
- Any student in India can apply for admission through this route.
- Up to 60% of seats are reserved for students already studying in the same New Sainik School.
- Admission is based on school-wise merit from AISSEE 2026.
- If seats remain vacant, they will be filled through Category A candidates.
