About JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) is an Organization of Central Schools for Talented Students mainly hailing from Rural Areas in India, conceived by former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi. Accordingly, two Navodaya’s one at Amravati (Maharastra) and another at Jhajjar (Hariyana) were started. Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti is the running body; The Samiti commenced its functioning with just two schools in 1985-86.

Navodaya’s are fully Residential and Co-Educational Schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) from VI to XII standard with quality Modern Education and a very well-built component of Culture, Encouragement to National Integration.

Navodaya’s are the only Schools in India that provide Quality Education for Free Including Boarding and Lodging as well as Expenses on Uniforms, Text Books, Stationery etc. given to Students. Even daily use material is also provided without any charges.

A Maximum of 80 Students are Admitted in Class VI in Each Vidyalaya through a Selection Test subject to the Availability of Suitable Candidates.

Registration can be done free of cost through the admission portal of NVS linked through www.navodaya.gov.in

No Candidate is Eligible to Appear in the Selection Test for the Second Time, under any Circumstances

  • Proof for date of birth
  • Proofs for eligibility as per the conditions of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS).
  • For rural quota, submit a certificate of the institution/school located in the rural area in which you have studied.
  • Residence Certificate in prescribed proforma in case of NIOS studies only
  • Any other documents are required.

Only a Blue/Black Ball Point Pen is to be used to write on the OMR Sheet.
